在我看来，安格尔在绘画方面的创作比他在肖像画方面更自由。他的肖像画，尤其是女性肖像，非常出色，但让人觉得他过于频繁地接受委托，从而严重限制了自己多才多艺的天赋得以充分发挥的机会。
